Orange & Black is the New Black

monarch butteflies swarm

Learn how Monarch butterfly mania struck San Antonio and what you can do to join the fun. Monika Maeckle will recap how San Antonio became the National Wildlife Federation’s first and, to date, only Monarch Butterfly Champion City, what COSA is doing to promote Monarchs and other pollinators and how Master Gardeners can get in on the action.

Monika Maekle is the butterfly evangelist, caterpillar wrangler, master gardener, weekend rancher, mother, wife, daughter, friend. Monika makes her living in media and marketing, usually at the computer, writing for the Texas Butterfly Ranch, reporting on nature for the Rivard Report, and hatching plans at the Arsenal Group. But she’d rather be outside!

NOTE:  There will be chocolate!

Native milk weed plants and butterfly pentas will be available for sale in 4 ½” containers at $3.00 each.
