BCMG President

“Stay committed to your decisions, but stay flexible in your approach.” –Tony Robbins
Happy New Year, BCMG!
My name is Liana Benavides, Class 63, and I am honored to be serving as your President for 2022. As we enter this New Year, we are looking forward to doing more in-person activities. However, since we are still dealing with COVID, we must remain flexible, for anything can happen at any time. This year, our monthly membership meetings will alternate between in-person at SABOT and online via Zoom. Keep an eye on your Leaflet for the latest information as that will be your most up-to-date resource.
One good thing that came out of this pandemic was BCMG bolstering our online presence, which has significantly increased our community outreach. A HUGE THANK YOU goes out to our Immediate Past President, Lynn Cox, and the 2021 Board, for all of the ideas and dedication to making our online programs successful. Gardening became a way of coping with our “new normal” and many community members turned to our Hotline Team, our Facebook Page, and our Website to find gardening advice that was research-based & locally relevant to their gardens at home.
This year, we will continue to adapt to whatever comes our way. We will provide a hybrid-approach to our events and activities for those that can attend in-person and those who are more comfortable watching online. I look forward to meeting many of you over the course of this year. BCMG is a strong team of dedicated volunteers. Together, let’s show Bexar County what BCMG can do in 2022!
