Skip will teach you how to find accurate answers to gardening questions from Extension Services, other universities, and other research-based, unbiased sources. He’ll also discuss ways to help you identify plants and insects online. You’ll receive a wealth of helpful information to enhance your ability to serve the public (and your own curiosity!) as a Master Gardener volunteer. A helpful handout with the talk content and websites will be provided to participants to keep and use.
Skip has worked as a county horticulturist with Texas AgriLife Extension for 32 years in Montgomery, Travis, Harris, and Brazos Counties. He has served as the National Gardening Association’s regional horticulturist for the southeastern U.S. and is a contributing editor to Texas Gardener magazine. His Gardening Success radio show in College Station is available online. Skip’s happy place is sitting in his garden observing and musing about the interactions of plants, insects, and the soil. Okra is the latest in a long list of obsessions.
