Topic: The Texas Wine Industry: From Humble Beginnings to Millennial Madness
Come explore the past, present, and future of our Texas wine industry. We will learn about the challenges and rewards of growing grapes and making wine in the Lone Star State.
Speaker: Michael Cook
Viticulture Program Specialist, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service
As a Viticulture Program Specialist, Michael Cook’s primary function is to provide educational support for the nearly 150 commercial vineyards in his region by providing workshops, programs, educational materials, and one-on-one site visits with growers. He also collaborates with colleagues on applied research initiatives across the state. Michael is a Dallas native and he studied horticulture at Texas A&M University. He was then awarded a fellowship to California State University – Fresno, where he earned a MSc in Viticulture and Enology.
The meeting is free and open to the public.
The business portion of the meeting will begin immediately after the conclusion of the presentation.
Registration is required, either in advance or minutes before the start of the program.
