This program is for anyone interested in beekeeping and/or learning how to start beekeeping, but who needs to know where to start. This class is geared for first time beekeepers and is presented by experienced beekeepers, entomologists, and horticulturists.
What’s Covered? The basics of bees and beekeeping, including: bee biology, beekeeping equipment and clothing, what to expect with your bees, and plants to provide your bees.
A hands‐on field day to a beekeeper’s yard will be where you will learn the most about beekeeping! Must sign a medical release waiver to participate. Bee suit will be provided. Directions to apiary given on Friday. Lunch is provided on Friday!
