CANCELLED: Explore the Canyon

Join us on the third Saturday of each month for a new adventure!
Knowledgeable guides discuss the flora, fauna, natural, and cultural history of this awesome natural area on this exploration. 8:30 AM – Noon.
Length of walk and interpretive topic will vary, depending on the group. Open to all ages; minors must be accompanied by an adult; group size limited to the first 12 people; no pets please.
Dress appropriately, sunscreen and hat recommended, wear sturdy footwear for hiking over rough terrain; bring two liters of water and a snack. Meet at the Visitors Center by the rainwater harvesting tower after stopping at the Entrance Fee Booth Area to self-pay/register. Plan to be at the Visitor Center no later than 8:15 AM; the hike starts promptly at 8:30 AM.
Subject to cancellation. On inclement mornings call GCSNA’s main office (210-688-9055) after 7:30 AM Saturday to check on trail conditions, or go to the GCSNA website twitter feed (http://tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/government-canyon), or to the GCSNA Facebook page. Natural Area Entry fees apply.
Color codes for the calendar are as follows:
- Orange: These are events for BCMG members only.
- Blue: These are public events for which BCMG members can also receive CEU credit.
- Green: These are events that are open to the general public.
