With the increasing loss of animal habitat, it is more important than ever to transform our residential and commercial landscapes into wildlife-friendly spaces, or wildscapes. An effective wildscape requires more than just flowers. It requires attention to the interconnected relationships that exist among plants, animals, and soil.
In this distance learning workshop, landscape designer Emma Jones will guide you through the conceptual and practical issues of wildscaping your landscape. She will discuss habitat and regional ecology, the components required for effective wildscapes, and restoration philosophy. She will also elaborate upon specific plants and design elements to support pollinators, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and mammals.
Fee: $10 deposit, refundable upon completion of the post-workshop survey
