The soil is one of our nation’s greatest resources and is often not well understood. Travis will be discussing the physical and chemical properties of soil and why they are important to all of us who use the soil to grow plants.
Travis Waiser graduated from Texas A&M University in 2003 with a B.S. in Agronomy and Rangeland Ecology and Management. He earned his Master of Science in Soil Science in May of 2006, also from Texas A&M University. In January 2005, he started as a Soil Scientist with the Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS), working throughout Texas sampling and describing soils and spending time in Oklahoma and Louisiana on detail work. He moved to Kerrville from College Station in July 2010, where he now serves as the Edwards Plateau and Central Basin Soil Survey Leader for NRCS. The NRCS office covers over 26 million acres of Central and West Texas.
