Texas Native Plant Week

October 20, 2019 - October 26, 2019

Texas Native Plant Week — October 20-26, 2019

To recognize the role of native plants in conservation and to provide incentive for schools to teach children about the importance of native plants, the State of Texas established the third week in October as Texas Native Plant Week.

Many organizations and communities celebrate Texas Native Plant Week with festive events, native plant sales, educational opportunities and outside activities.  Look for events to attend in your community, or celebrate by getting outside and enjoying our wonderful Texas native plants.

Suggestions:
Plant a native tree or plant in your yard or at your place of business.
Look for a Native Plant Week event in your area.  Example:  2019 Native Plant Society of Texas Annual Fall Symposium, October 3-6, 2019, in League City, TX.
Attend native plant events, plant sales, and educational presentations.
Plant a native garden for butterflies, hummingbirds, and other wildlife.
