One of the oldest human challenges is the effort to manage pests.  It should come as no surprise, then, that some of the newest technologies are being tested for use as better ways to control pests. And yet there is still limited information on this topic.  The goal of this grant project is to introduce the concept of gene drive.  What is it, how might it be used in an agricultural or insect pest situation, are there any trade-offs of using one method versus another?

At the end of the presentation you will be asked to complete an online survey about the presentation you just watched.  The research team is interested in YOUR feedback.  This information will be collected anonymously and then used to write an end of grant report to USDA NIFA.  This is not an advocacy program, it is about educational awareness and how you can help give feedback to USDA, Texas A&M University, Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension, UT Southwestern Medical Center, and Institute for Science, Technology, and Public Policy, Bush School of Government and Public Service.
