Dig It! Starting a Spring / Summer Vegetable Garden

This hour-long presentation is for the beginner gardener and for those who wish to hone their gardening skills. Participants will learn about the important guidelines of planning for the garden, such as selecting a site and what preparations to make before planting. During the presentation, they will be shown how to select the right plants, the proper ways to plant and the maintenance of their gardens throughout the Spring and Summer.
Speaker: Liana Benavides
Liana Benavides has been a BCMG since 2019 (class 63) and is currently serving as BCMG President. She fell into gardening by accident when she found herself as Coordinator of the garden program at Tex Hill Middle School in North East Independent School District.
Liana is happily married with two daughters, one a high school senior and one in college. In addition to gardening, Liana enjoys reading & listening to all kinds of music. Her favorite flower is the hibiscus.
