Andres will present a brief overview of the Youth Gardens Program in Bexar County, along with plans for the program’s future.
Andres Villagran is the Youth Gardens Coordinator for Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service – Bexar County. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Science from Texas A&M University, along with almost a decade of experience in conservation education through work with the Fish & Wildlife Service, the San Antonio Zoo, and more. As the Youth Gardens Coordinator, he implements youth-centered activities at various outreach events and hosts Youth Garden Educator trainings for local garden leaders. All his work would not be possible without the help of his Youth Garden Buddies, a select group of Bexar County Master Gardener volunteers specialized in youth-centered activities.
