Keyhole Gardens, Lasagna Gardens, and Elevated-Bed Gardens!

October 23, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

The concept of hoop gardens is NOT a new concept, it’s just adapted for year-round gardening.  The concept is really pretty simple; i.e., build a bed, make some hoops, cover them with either cloth or plastic or both, and you have a mini-greenhouse wherever it is located.  Flowers, herbs, vegetables, fruits, or whatever can be grown in hoop gardens.  Keyhole gardens and elevated gardening could be distilled down to accessibility.  This course will cover the basics of this established concept and will help you learn how to tend to this type of gardening.

Instructor:  Thomas Harris, Ph.D., is a Master Gardener certified by the State of Texas, a Master Pruner certified by the San Antonio Botanical Garden, a Gardening Columnist, and a founder and volunteer for the Gardening Volunteers of South Texas (GVST).

Fee: $19/person.  NISD class meets in Rm C106.  Click here for more information or to register.
