SAWS Spring Bloom

March 9, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

This FREE annual event is your prime opportunity to learn about gardening and landscape care from the pros — all while saving water.  This year’s focus will be on the rookie gardener.  Learn all the basics to get started — from selecting soil to picking plants to maintaining a less thirsty, more drought-hardy landscape.

Guest presentations include:

  • 9:30 AM — Good Bug, Bad Bug: 10 Bugs Everyone Should Know by Molly Keck, Entomologist, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service
  • 10:30 AM — Texas – It’s a Whole ‘Nother Country: A Newcomer’s Guide to Gardening in South Texas by Anna Vogler, Bexar County Master Gardener Water Conservation Coordinator
  • 11:35 AM — What Everyone New to San Antonio and Gardening Should Know – The Organic Perspective by Bob Webster, Shades of Green Nursery

Attendees also will have the opportunity to earn up to three WaterSaver Rewards points and a $50 coupon to use toward water-conserving mulch for your landscape!

Local gardening experts will be speaking throughout the day and there will be a fun-filled learning area for children.

As always, the first 1,000 visitors get a free plant!

BCMGs:  1 CEU per 1 hour of presentation at 9:30 and 10:30 AM.  Code: 001.
