One of Marybeth Parsons’ primary retirement goals was to get her Master Gardener training so that she could learn how to successfully keep a yard/landscape alive and attractive with minimal maintenance in our challenging South Texas climate.

She received the Bexar County Master Gardener designation in 2016.

She has since been certified in Texas Superstars Advanced Training, and in Tree Care Advanced Training.

She completed the Landscape Design School training in College Station, TX, in September, 2018, earning the Texas Master Gardener “Landscape Design Steward” designation.

For fun, she works on her home landscape, shares her knowledge of Texas Superstars, Tree Care, and drought-hardy plants as a Texas Master Gardener, enjoys tennis and pickleball, reads, travels, and plays duplicate bridge.

This presentation is designed for all levels of gardeners with landscapes and gardens. The participants will learn about the plants that are most resilient to the heat of summer.  As they plan their South Texas gardens, these plants can be incorporated with the confidence they will be most likely to not only survive, but thrive.
